John Woo Presents: Stranglehold, developed by Midway Games in collaboration with legendary filmmaker John Woo, is a third-person action shooter released for the PlayStation 3 on September 5, 2007. Serving as a direct sequel to Woo’s 1992 action film Hard Boiled, the game puts players in the role of Inspector Tequila, voiced by Chow Yun-Fat, as he battles through Hong Kong and Chicago to rescue his kidnapped wife. Known for its "Tequila Time" slow-motion gunplay, destructible environments, and cinematic action sequences, Stranglehold delivered a fast-paced, movie-like experience that captured the over-the-top style of classic Hong Kong action films.
