Are Movies Tested?
Testing physical movie/series media isn’t always straightforward. Unless the entire disc is watched from start to finish, it's difficult to guarantee flawless playback—especially since a single scratch can cause freezing or skipping, sometimes during the climax of the film.
That’s why at LogicFarmers, we use a tool called RetroCheck. It scans each disc, verifies data integrity, and compares hashes to detect any corruption. This helps ensure that the disc is readable and ready for smooth playback.
In addition to digital scanning, we also perform a physical inspection of every disc to identify deep scratches or layer separation—common issues in aging discs. These defects can cause playback failure and often go unnoticed without a hands-on check.
What is mean Resurfaced?
If RetroCheck detects a problem reading the disc, we use a resurfacing machine to fix it. This machine removes a very thin layer from the disc surface to eliminate scratches and other physical damage. We then polish the disc and recheck it with RetroCheck to ensure the issue is resolved.

Are playback, menus, or bonus features tested?
We don’t watch full movies. Instead, we verify that the disc loads properly on a standard DVD or Blu-ray player and that it passes all data integrity checks. Menus and bonus content are not reviewed in full, but they’re included in the scan.
Are the movies region-locked?
Yes. Many DVDs and Blu-rays are region-encoded (e.g., Region 1, Region 2, Region A, etc.). If the disc’s region code doesn’t match your player, it may not play.
Each product page includes the region code information so you can check compatibility before purchasing. Some discs are region-free and can be played worldwide.
