Are Games Tested?

Testing retro games isn't always straightforward. Unless someone plays the entire game from start to finish, it’s hard to guarantee everything works—especially since a single scratch can cause the game to freeze, sometimes right at the final stage.

That’s why at LogicFarmers, we created our own tool called RetroCheck. It scans the game files, checks their integrity, and compares hashes to detect any corruption. This helps us make sure the disc is readable and error-free—so you get a game that actually works.

What is mean Resurfaced?

If RetroCheck detects a problem reading the game disc, we use a resurfacing machine to fix it. This machine removes a very thin layer from the surface of the disc to eliminate scratches and other damage. After that, we polish the disc to make it smooth again and recheck it using RetroCheck to ensure the issue is resolved.

Are gameplay, key functionality, or authentication services tested?

We do not test full gameplay. Our focus is on checking that the media is intact and readable, and that it loads on a real console. For PC games, a successful data check is usually enough.

Some games may include product keys. However, we can’t guarantee key functionality, as we don’t install or activate the games. Also, many older games rely on online authentication services that may no longer exist.

Are the games compatible with region codes?

Older consoles often require games that match the console’s region code (such as NTSC, PAL, or NTSC-J). If the region doesn’t match, the game may not run at all.

Each game’s product page includes its region information, so you can check before buying. PC games are generally region-free and don’t have this limitation.
