Silent Scope

Silent Scope on PlayStation 2 is the home adaptation of Konami’s popular arcade sniper shooter, released in 2000 as one of the early titles for the console. The player takes the role of a counter-terrorist sniper who must eliminate enemies from long distances while protecting hostages and key figures. Unlike the arcade version, which featured a mounted sniper-rifle scope controller, the PS2 port relies on the standard controller, though Konami also released a compatible light gun–style accessory to recreate the arcade experience. The game offers the full arcade campaign with branching missions, along with training and time attack modes. While it was praised for faithfully capturing the feel of the arcade, it was also criticized for losing some immersion without the original scope hardware.
