Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness is a darker, more mature entry in the iconic adventure series, developed by Core Design and released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003. The game follows Lara Croft as she becomes a fugitive, framed for the murder of her former mentor, and drawn into a shadowy conspiracy involving ancient artifacts, secret societies, and supernatural forces. Departing from the series' traditional tone, Angel of Darkness aimed to explore Lara’s more vulnerable and conflicted side, blending action, exploration, and stealth elements with RPG-style features like dialogue choices and character upgrades.
