X-Men: The Official Game

X-Men: The Official Game is an action-adventure video game released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006, developed by Z-Axis and published by Activision. Serving as a bridge between X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, the game follows Wolverine, Iceman, and Nightcrawler as they battle against classic enemies like Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants and the robotic Sentinels. Each character has unique gameplay mechanics—Wolverine focuses on melee combat with his claws, Iceman uses ice-based ranged attacks while gliding on an ice slide, and Nightcrawler teleports to outmaneuver enemies. While the game expands on the movie universe with an original storyline, it received mixed reviews due to repetitive combat, limited enemy variety, and inconsistent level design. However, fans of the X-Men franchise appreciated its connections to the films and the opportunity to play as some of their favourite mutants.
